What techniques do you use to get ideas for a great painting?
I take long drives and I always carry a sketch pad with me at all times. When I see something or get an immediate idea, the sketch pad is there for immediate use and then I go back to the lab with a tall cup of coffee and refine the sketches for viewing pleasure.

i”ll try that out. For me, its nothing specific!!! sometimes good music leads me a great idea, and sometimes just nothing, Ideas come and go, but there are some special which you can really transform into a good painting. Some day when I read a story, like when I was mesmerized while reading Pride n Prejudice, all the scenes flashed in my mind, like 7 sisters sitting in the lawn with tea n cakes, some stiching, some reading , lawn was big, lush green with roses, many other flowers, So immediately i made up my mind to start something with these things. Its crazy but fun . bye
