Being An All Around Artist
As an artist, art and music is hard to differentiate. In his house, growing up in Fredrick, there was always singings and painting. There were some kinds that did not like drawing or singing so much he later realized. Having placed his art aside during his teens years gave way to his love for music, which is what he does to this day. To earn extra money, he would join bands which were better than being at the carwash. For more information on paintings check out oil portrait artists.
Music had been his life for over 30 years. Art had come back to his life only 12 years ago. Since then, he keeps painting and still continues to. Both singing and painting is what he does these days. Though these days he created pictures that are more in depth.
He was able to ask help from a musician friend for some oil painting lessons. With the guidance of his mentor he was able to learn his realistic style. What came from the lessons that he took were a painting that was chosen as a promotional print the year it was painted, and a portrait of a long haired, white cat.
The result is the message you want to send. Prior to creating something, he observes the scene and checks where the emotional impact lies. He makes sure that the image of a person he is painting is flattering. With flattery comes the right kind of lighting for the portrait. Being able to get the right lighting and shadow depth will bring a certain three dimension factor to the picture. Most of his work is done in watercolor but many think it is in oil. He likes the convenience, and watercolor is a little less technical.
Apart from all the other paintings he has done one of them was a mural for a couple who live in the Clover Hill section of Frederick. The image was of colonial Williamsburg which covered one wall in the house. According to the couple what this mural represents it their interest and love for the early American village. It is of a fictional street that the mural is done which measures about 10 feet wide by 4 feet tall.
Adding a few details such as wagons and people dressed in colonial garb and hollyhocks made the mural look more real. When he gets going on a project, he’ll often work six to 12 hours a day four days a week. The remaining days of the week was devoted to rehearsals for his performances. With painting one will experience both physical and mental exhaustion he says. Learning how to be focused is greatly needed when painting.
