One of the many methods in catching fish that I found very useful and easy to use is the fly fishing method. Yes, I work as an ultrasound technician but my interest also goes fishing to learn more new approaches to enhance my knowledge on fishing. That’s why on my next ultrasound technician salary, I am planning to buy those set of fishing technique books that I saw once in a department store near the buildings of ultrasound technician schools in Florida. My interest in fly fishing started before I became ultrasound technician when my father first educated me in tips on how to catch a fish in our nearby lake. I was really amazed how he skillfully threw that fishing rod and then minutes later his rod was shaking and finally he got a big fish! So, until now, after receiving my next month’s salary, I will then go to my parent’s house with my children and visit the elders, and then started to go fishing, of course. Of all the ways of fishing, the one that is probably the most pleasurable to do is fly fishing, so if you are totally new to the sport, you should try it. There are many different locations that it can be done, and it takes strategy as much as physical endurance, because getting into the mind of the fish takes some patience. If you would like to learn more about this fun hobby, the following article will examine some of the strategies of fly fishing that will make it more pleasurable.
You will scare the fish away if you approach them in the wrong way, so in that way fly fishing is a type of hunting. It is a big mistake for those who are fishing for the first time, to not realize that their presence is known by the fish. Fish are perfectly capable of not only hearing you, but also seeing you, so don’t assume that the live in another universe. You should watch what you step on, to keep the noise down when walking. If you talk to loudly, you can scare the fish away. Stay behind the fish, so they won’t see you. You need to not slash the water as you are wading through it, because the vibrations in the water will scatter the fish. When fly fishing, you need to be using the type of flies that the fish are biting, so check often because you may need to change. To get action from the fish, you will need the fly to float on the water, so anything that prevents that is not good. When your fly and hook get tangled up with the part of the leader that is the tippet, it will ruin your fishing. While you are fishing, you will need to be aware that materials can get wrapped up in the fly or the hook, making it difficult for you to catch a fish. Every few casts you need to check your fly and tippet to make sure everything is in working order, to prevent this from happening.
The next thing to consider are your lures (flies). The ones you choose and use will be the determining factor in your success or failure as a fly fisher. If the local fish you are trying to catch think that your lure is the real thing, he will go for it. Keep this in mind when you choose your fly. What kind of live flies are active in the area at the moment? The variables to keep in mind when choosing which lure to use depends on where you are, the season, time of day, and the variety of fish you hope to catch. Take a pre-trip to the area you plan to fish in and make note of the flies that are buzzing around. Pay attention to their color and what they look like. In any event, your selection of lures should be diverse enough to accommodate any changes in the situation in which you find yourself, and should match the season and type of live flies that are prevalent in the area.
Now that you have become totally interested in fly fishing, the amount of information on the subject will keep you busy for quite a long time. There are certainly resources close by where you live, like the library, but it is much easier to use the internet providing you have a computer. If you want to master fly fishing, don’t expect it to happen overnight, but simply make it your goal to increase your knowledge, and when people ask advice from you, you will be almost there.
